it’s nice to meet you

I’m April

the girl behind the camera

I am a farm girl – born and raised. I may not work on the farm, but I love photographing all the things that make it special, from the large machinery, to the small nuts and bolts that hold everything together. Agriculture photography is in my heart. My family owns a centennial farm, which means it has been in our family for over 100 years. My dad does most of the work on his own, but when my sisters and I were younger, we would spend our summer vacations power washing the machinery, working in the garden, or doing other tasks around the farm. I have two amazing parents, an older sister, and a twin sister. Yup, that’s right… my dad had to live with 4 women in the house; isn’t he lucky?!

I attended St. Clair County Community College for two years, where I received an Associates of Liberal Arts and Science and then continued on to Wayne State University where I received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography, and a Masters of Library Information and Science. I now work during the day for the St. Clair County Library System as a Digital Librarian where I get to design billboards, mailers, and much more. I run my photography business in the evenings and on the weekends. I have been in business for almost 5 years now, and look forward to the years to come and would love to work with you!

What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.
